On the 17th and 18th August, to mark its 150th Birthday, the SPD transformed Straße des 17.Juni (17th June Street) in Berlin into a a “fan mile of social democracy.”
Plenty of illustrious guests were invited to the party: At the “Deutschlandfest” artists such as Nena, die Prinzen, Roland Kaiser and Samy Deluxe performed. Also on the programme at the “Deutschlandfest” were speeches from SPD leaders including Peer Steinbrueck and Sigmar Gabriel. Who, along with bands and artists and the public, celebrate the party’s “150 Years of working for freedom, justice and solidarity.”
b1group live streaming started at 15:00 on spd.de. The four hour programme with key speakers and music directly from the stage at the Brandenburg Gate was moderated by Tobias Nehren and Nancy Haupt.
Several 100,000s celebrated the Deutschlandfest at the Brandenburg Gate and almost as many across the Republic watched the b1group Live stream on their mobile devices or home computers.
