Women must play an even stronger role in politics, economy and society. German Chancellor Angela Merkel came to this conclusion at the G7 forum for a dialogue with women from around the world. Merkel invited women from business, science and society to the dialogue on the 16th and 17th September.
Education and training are the key to success and the basis for the economic participation of women, said Merkel. Under the German G7 presidency we have therefore decided to increase significantly investment in education and training of girls and women in developing countries. But even in developed countries there is a pent-up demand. Even though 50 percent of women are employed worldwide, they are often in precarious jobs.
