Merkel in dialogue with young people
Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the Rostock Sheel School in Rostock. A school with 33 pupils and dicussed the qualiy of life in Germany with them. The visit to the school center Paul Friedrich Scheel is the second of the dialogue sessions that the Chancellor personally attended.
School with a difference: The students of Rostock Scheel school have the opportunity to share their experiences, opinions
and ideas and contribute on the topic of quality of life in Germany directly at the Chancellor. Angela Merkel accompanied the dialogue session at the Paul Friedrich Scheel school, a support centre for physically disabled pupils from Rostock and the surrounding area . Children and young people are taught and receive individual support and therapeutic care . 33 pupils aged 14 to 17 years, who had applied in the dialogue itself, participated in the dialogue session.
Prior to the dialogue, the youngsters were prepared in various thematic blocks at two preparatory workshops. The KiKA presenter Felix Seibert – Daiker and Youth Moderator of the German Children and Youth Foundation ( DKJS ), Patrick Lühlow will moderate the discussion.
The DKJS recommended the Schulzentrum Paul Friedrich Scheel for the civil dialogue discussion with the Chancellor. The school itself is a partner of the ” Think Big ” -Jugendprogramms the DKJS. The programme inspires and supports young people in finding their way in the digital world and expand their technological capabilities.
